Ip Virtual Switch Prototype System Design And Implementation And Related Virtual Services

As the varieties of services based on internet continue to increase at a striking speed,it is desirable to find out new approaches that can flexibly and quickly create diverse services shared by large numbers of users in the same physical network.In this paper,we propose a novel approach-IP Virtual Switches(IPVSW). IPVSW is aprogrammable network architecture that consists of dynamic virtual switches supporting multi-services in the IP traffic network. For illustrating the advantages .provided by IPVSW,we present a prototype of IPVSW. Our objective is to provide a PC-based experimental platform well-suited to the research and development of on-the-fly network that needs open-interface and multi-services. We address the design and implementation issues of the prototype in detail. At the end of this paper,we instance an IP PHONE service to demonstrate the feasibility of IPVSW.
