In this paper, the emphasis is how to use the in system programmable chip to improve the stability of microwave range finder and reduce the size of it.At first the paper introduces some basic theories of measure distance, then introduces the structure of the in system PLD (programmable logic device)桳attice 1016.With the development of VLSI and ISP (in system programmable) technique, the way of design digital circuit has changed great. Adopting ISP and EDA technique may not only integrating circuit but also changing the logic content of the chip without dismantling it from the circuit board. With the development of the ISP chip' s density, the whole circuit may be integrated in one chip.In this paper, the microwave ranger finder adopts two Lattice 1016 PLD chips to integrate some separate circuits and make the function simulation. It proves the ISP chip may improve the stability of the system and may reduce the power consumption too.In order to make the speed of the function simulation faster, the system adopting VHDL (Very High-speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language) to make simulation faster, at the same time this make it easy to transplant the circuit to other kinds of ISP chips.
