As the development of science and technology, automobile act as an important role inpeople’s life.but accidents happen usually, road traffic safety problems become a socialproblem. People concern about safety driving more and more. Relative to traditional airbagsand increase the strengthen the body structure, active collision avoidance system is moreeffective in preventing traffic accidents. The automobile laser range finder become a hotresearch area,This thesis described the theory and method in laser rang finder, and introduced thedevelopment of laser radar. This paper use the pulse laser ranging method based on the need.This thesis is intended to design a laser ranging system used on automobile, finished theplan verification and complete the prototype. This paper does the spice simulation of thelaser driving circuit, the signal receiving circuit. Designing the circuit of the laser pulse lasershot circuit with905nm laser diode, laser signal receiving circuit with APD, counter circuitbased on CPLD, and finish the program on the chip. Establishing the experimentsenvironment and tested the system, we got the accurate parameter, and propose the promotemethod.The prototype needs to be ranged100meter. The error limit is0.3meter, and the lasershot frequency is more than1kHz. The pulse width is10ns. The pulse power is20W.
