Distance Education Based On Java And Corba Component Technology Research

With the development of Internet, distance education is getting more popular. Nowadays, Computer distance education systems WEB-based are implement through CGI. But CGI execution is bigger overhead, and can' t adapt Object-oriented and component technology etc. The main target of CORBA specification offered by OMG is to solve distributive computer in heterogeneous system. CORBA can implement plug and play in software, that is application software according to this specification can become plug-in unit. When it is plugged in software bus and it can be used immediately.Based on the analysis distributive character of distance education, CORBA specification, and CORBA adaptation. In this paper we discuss the management method of student and teaching resource, and give a model of distance education CORBA-based, analysis the functions of all parts in this model and illustrate the implementing method through some program. The implementation shows that the development of distributive distance education system in heterogeneous computer system is possible with CORBA interface, and it can improve greatly the reusability of software.
