Scalar Network Test System Uses Frequency Extension

In this paper ,it is discussed the frequency expanding method of the SNA test system through using the harmonic mixer. CAD technology(HP Eesof Series-IV)is applied to design the harmonic mixer which includes an anti-parallel diode pair and the microstrip circuit. During the process, the non-linear analysis is selected to be the Harmonic Balance method. The whole circuit is simulated and the main parameters such as the frequency conversion are optimized. The millimeter-wave mixer of Ka wave-band is designed and made, using 8th harmonic of LO mixed with the signal of RF. At the end of the paper, the frequency expanding system of the SNA test system is established.
