Elecroless Ni- plating is the technique that without of the current Ni2~ in the solution is hydrogenated by NaH2PO2 on the activated solid surface and deposited on the quartz optical fiber. Elecroless Ni- plating have the enormous perspectives , and is one of the surface technique whose devolopment speed is the fastest in nowadays. In comparison to the widely application of elecroless Ni- plating technique in the metal base and the non-metal base such as diamond glass... ceramics and plastics , it is very seldom that the research of the elecroless Ni- plating technique application in the the quartz optical fiber base. While quartz optical fiber has been metalated by elecroless Ni- plating technique and so on , metalated optical fiber would be the sensing head of the optical fiber weak magnetic field sensor,and add the optical fiber抯 solidity and so on.So throuth a large number of experiments , it has been settled that Elecroless Ni- plating on the quartz optical fiber base which has extra instructure and has no activation based on the the theory of Elecroless Ni- plating on the non-metal base. The main works are as follows: ?~ ? ~ iv g~ I .Pre-treatment on the fiber surface As the quartz optical fiber is non-metal and has no the catalytic activation , so the fiber surface should be pre-treated and become to the catalytic activatory surface. The adherence of Pd to the fiber surface include the physical adherence and the chemical adherence ,its instructure and work way has been analyzed in theory.The heating treatment has been joined before the active treatment on this base, and the problem has been settled that the difficult of the quartz optical fiber抯 been activated. 2. Elecroless plating and electroplating According to the need of the elecroless plating and electroplating for the quartz optical fiber, the components and technique reference of applied solution have been analyzed and best-fitted.
