Uninterruptible Power Supply System (UPS) is a uninterrupted power electronics equipment providing high-quality electricity to ensure continuous uninterrupted power supply, which can provide reliable, clean power frequency grid under normal or fault conditions. In the computer, communications, hospitals, military, aerospace, and other important occasions, they have important position. In all types of UPS, the on-line UPS are the most reliable and best performance, which are widely used. With the development of power electronics technologies, the performance and accuracy requirements for UPS continuously improve, and it is essential that the advanced DSP chip control method will be applied in UPS to achieve uninterrupted power supply digital control.This paper, based on the MD series frequency on-line UPS in Foshan Jiyuan company, makes some improvement studies. First of all, based on TMS320F2812chip, the inverter part of MD series UPS to improve controls has been designed to ensure the UPS reliable, efficient, real-time work. Second, based on DSP chip, the on-line UPS has been studied, and it validates its usefulness using the Saber software.This paper first describes the classification, performance specifications and principle of UPS, and proposes the overall structure from the MD series frequency machine of Foshan company. Second, it describes the DSP chip features and interface in UPS systems and control functions, and gives the frequency inverter principle, hardware architecture of company MD series, and hardware SPWM principle. And then, it describes the principle of 6kVA MD series improved frequency inverter and the simulation model of hardware structure, and gives the calculation method of hardware structure and important parameters. Finally, it describes some of the software flow control and DSP software flow chart of all system, and the part of the circuit simulation and waveform analysis has been done under saber simulation software. Simulation results verify the feasibility of the circuit scheme, which lays an important foundation for the subsequent design and improvement.
