With the implementation of the electricity market operation mechanism, power generation enterprises have become the main body in the market. In order to be in a favorable position in an increasingly tough competitive environment, hydropower plant only have to fully tap their own potential, strengthen the work of inner-plant economic operation and maximize the use of water resources. Thus, it is imperative to establish hydropower plant’s inner-plant economic operation system, which can provide decision support for hydropower generation and operational management.Based on the actual research of hydropower plant’s operation requirements, analysis the demand of inner-plant economic operation system from the business demand, function demand and data demand, give the system’s business process diagrams, use case diagram, class diagram and use case description. On the basis of demand analysis, complete the system’s overall design and module design, including basic information management, history information management, real-time data monitoring, calculation of economic operation, operation index analysis, background management and system login; give the module design of function structure diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram and process flow diagram and interface design; then, use the entity class diagram, e-r diagram and database table to design the database in detail. Finally, summarize the contents of the study, point out the lack of this paper’s work and prospect the next work in the future.
