At present, the development of higher education information management is the inevitable trend, so that college physical education must innovate to keep pace with the times. The college PE class has the characteristics of being open in space and flexible in form, and a vast variety of data will be created during the course, such as records of attendance, physical fitness tests and skill tests. Therefore, it is hard to collect and process data as other courses do in ordinary classrooms or computer labs. As for traditional approach of manual recording, there are disadvantages such as low efficiency and high error rates.In order to better adapt to the reform and development of college physical education, the author studies and analyzes a ’one-card’ management system, that is, a new information management system on the basis of researches into current physical education in Zhejiang Wanli University., and aims to use mobile terminal of IC card to gather various raw data during class. After collection, all data are uploaded to the server and students’ grades can be automatically calculated according to evaluation indexes like score tables and proportion coefficient, etc. Meanwhile, it can also serve such functions as data input and output, statistics analysis, course selection, and grades inquiry.With an object-oriented approach, this thesis starts with the detailed analyses of processing requirements, functional requirements and data needs of physical education management system. Then, in accordance with the UML modeling, flow charts are drawn to illustrate the process of course selection, attendance management, performance management, curriculum management and user management. Also, case diagrams are drawn to display subsystems of these procedures, and package diagrams are used to describe the organizational structure among these different modules. Finally, concept diagrams, functional thumbnails and entity relationship diagrams are used for data analysis, and the structure of database in the system is explicitly designed.This system is intended to improve the process of physical education management and enhance its quality and efficiency, and eventually achieve the scientific and standard management of physical education with information technology.
