“The emergency response law of the peoples Republic of China” promulgatedin2007is aimed at “preventing and reducing the occurrence of unexpected events,controlling, mitigating and eliminating the serious social harm caused by unexpectedevents, standardizing emergency response activities, protecting peoples lives andproperty, and safeguarding national security, public safety, environmental safety andsocial order.” How to respond to emergencies before, during, and after the wholeprocess is included in “The emergency response law of the peoples Republic ofChina”. The law requires government departments to publish accurate and timelyinformation and advice to the community about emergencies.With the new type of media, weibo’s increasing participation and influence inthe social public space, the number of weibo in China had a rapid development in thepast four years, it has reached more than400million since2010. We use comparative studies, empirical research,interdisciplinary research and other research methods to study the situation ofgovernment affairs weibo’s handling of unexpected crisis of internet public opinionin some cities in Jiangsu, analyze the deficiencies in the current situation, and make acomprehensive analysis of the strategies and skills to resolve the crisis and repair theimage of the government by government affairs weibo. These will play a positive rolefor building a harmonious society.
