Design And Development Of Web Support Software For New Internet Intelligent Terminal

With the development of technology, the intelligent terminals have made great effect on people’s daily life in a variety of ways. The terminals break the barrier of the single traditional function and become intelligent and Internet-oriented. People enjoy different web services through kinds of intelligent terminals. In the meantime, in order to make the most of various terminals, the interconnection between the terminals has become a trend. Currently, there are a variety of intelligent terminals in the market while they are quite different in their software, hardware, performance and many other aspects. This brings lots of trouble to the software developers. The developers have to implement and maintain the same web application on different platforms repeatedly. Thus some cross-platform application development tools have emerged. These application development tools shield the heterogeneity of under layers and provide unified interfaces to the web applications, which allow the developers to take advantage of application development tools for unified application implementation and seamless cross-platform migration. However, most of the existing tools only aim to the mobile platforms and have relatively high requirement on terminals’ capability. The rapid growth of the smart TV’s market, the capability discrepancies, the character differences among terminals and the tendency of terminals’ connection all lead to great challenges to the current application development tools.In order to solve the above problems, this paper designs and implements a web-support software platform for the intelligent terminals. This platform supports various terminals (including the mobile terminal and the smart TV). Based on this platform, the developer can finish their web applications on different terminals with simple web language. The platform also has the following advantages:1) Compatibility with terminals’ distinct hardware capability. It can run robustly on low performance terminals while take full advantage of high performance terminals.2) Support for terminals’ connection. It allows the service switched among terminals.3) Adaptive support for various terminals. It can provide different resource support to the terminals based on their properties.
