There existed some problems in commercial bank application systems:1.It’s difficult to maintain the system because of the complicated business logic and processes;2. IT cost is huge, and most of the projects involve a large number of core banking systems changes, which results in long development and testing cycle, the launch of the new business functions lags far behind the market competitors. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes a transformation based on SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) thinking, which aims to maximize the re-use of existing mature business logic of the legacy systems, reduce the bank’s IT investment, shorten time to market of new products and business, and help the business sector to seize market opportunities, and finally gain greater market share. The major job of the thesis includes:This paper studied and researched a large number of cases and the business requirements, finally optimized and reengineered the traditional business processes based on SOA; it established a SOA architecture based on IBM Z/OS mainframe platform, CICS middleware, and the hierarchical data storage structure built on VSAM virtual storage technology. The author implemented SOA architecture by using MQ as the communication method between the front-end and back-end, analyzed three different SOA implementation methods:MLI, Transaction Build and DAG MLI, finally identified a suitable solution for different type of transactions to meet different business characteristics.During the implementation of the SOA architecture, this paper fully studied the characteristics of the core banking system, achieved the transformation of the legacy I. T system to a SOA based I. T system by using IBM mainframe, CICS middleware and the VSAM hierarchical data storage structure.
