Design And Implementation Of Online Examination System

Rapid development and popularization of modern science and technology make most of online courses on computer test has been implemented. Objective questions (single topic selection, multiple selections, true or false, filling in the blanks,and so on) in the exam system are automatic graded. Score is given by the difference between the examinee answer and the standard one, which is relatively easy to implement. Students can be tested their learning effect by a complete online examination system timely after studying, and the learning deficiency can be easily found, which can improve the students’ learning efficiency. Users can automatically complete the title generating, the papers submitting, the results of exam marking and other work by the online examination system. The premise of realizing the automation of the examination is to form a set of mature question bank, which makes the teacher’s main job to do careful design topic and question bank maintenance. The examination system not only reduces the teachers’ burden greatly, but also has a considerable economy. And it allows students who are online to get a more comprehensive and flexible service provided by educational institutions. Students are accurately tracked and evaluated. These requirements led to the development of online examination system. A new test environment in school brings out from the development of test model based on Internet. It not only results to the examination management more convenient and smoothly, but also improves the test work results and standard level. By this way, school administrators, teachers and students can do related work in anytime at anywhere by the Internet.Based on ASP.NET, online examination system is developed in this paper. The system mainly includes two modules:student subsystem and administrator subsystem. Main functions of student module include student login, select subjects, examination and review notes, and so on. Administrator module implements the basically functions, which include item category management, examination paper making and maintenance, user paper management, user information management and personal information management. Management and maintenance of single topic selection, multiple selections, true or false, filling in the blanks are the main functions of category management. Paper making maintenance mainly has paper making, examination paper management and exam course management three sub-functions. User test paper management mainly has examination paper reviewing and user performance management two sub-functions. The function of personal information management is to manage the user’s password.The system uses Visual Studio2008and SQL Server2005as the development tool. C#is used in the system, and SQL Server2005is used to establish the appropriate data sheet. Data displaying is realized by using Microsoft’s various components such as GridView, DataList, DetailsView. B/S three-layer architecture and a detailed scheme of online examination system are used in the system. So, a variety of subjects can be tested in the online examination system. In this paper, the research has the following three parts:The first part of the thesis mainly introduces research background, research significance and research status at home and abroad about the online examination system.The second part of the paper mainly discusses the design and implementation of the system, which includes three aspects. Firstly, the architecture and development environment of online examination system are introduced. The system’s architecture, ADO.NET, system platforms and technologies architecture which are the basis of the system’s design and implementation are mainly. Secondly, the analysis of the system requirements included the target system, problem solving and the functional is presented. Finally, the system is designed and realized. At the same time, the system’s database and function module design are expounded and explored.The summary and outlook are presented in the third part of the paper. The experience of the online examination system development and the implementation process are given. At the same time, the application prospect and the future development are forecasted.
