With the development of the city and the improvement of living standards, people put forward higher requirements for public security. To this end, many kinds of security devices have been devoted to application, and video surveillance equipment has had a wide range of development. When dealing with security challenges, to obtain the exact locations and field situations of the site is the premise of emergency command. According to the above requirements, this paper proposes a kind of target positioning method which can proactive and non-contact get position, while focusing on the positioning error correction method for a detailed analysis. The main contents are as follows:First, the method for target location. This system uses the three-dimensional positioning model consisting of GPS, E-compass and laser rangefinder for respectively measuring the positioning devise’s longitude, latitude, elevation, course angle, pitch angle and the distance between target and devise. After system integration of efficient data with sensor fusion technique and calculating them with localization algorithm, we can get the location information of target.Second, the method for error correction. In the factual research of error correction, I have summarized specific methods for the error of sensor measurement and the error of system integration respectively. Adopt modified LS-KF filtering algorithm to correcting GPS location error, and apply the combination of initialization calibration of long baseline and dynamic error compensation method to correcting electronic compass heading angle error. These two methods are used for correcting Sensor measurement. In addition, this thesis employs the fusion algorithm of asynchronous LCM sampling to correct Information fusion system error.Third, The work for system verification. By means of actual measurements and devising some relevant experimental schemes, this thesis has proved the feasibility and validity of above-mentioned error correction methods for improving the positioning accuracy. Moreover, the positioning error has been reduced from original±60m to±10m, demonstrating that the positioning accuracy has been promoted to more than83%to fit the requirement of system design. Above all, On the bases of meeting the accuracy requirement without changing the overall design and hardware configuration of positioning system, we can use some error correction methods for increasing the accuracy, which is meaningful in practical application of positioning system.
