On The Educational Function And Social Service Development Of The Museum

The function of museum is to achieve its basic working and engaged in its social purposes, and the basic approach is to reflect its social benefits.Generally believed that the basic functions of the museum are the collection,research and education.In its early stages of development are mainly collection and research,education is its later derived function,this is the function of a traditional museum positioning.However,a wide range of the museum social function changes along with society’s evolution.With the rapid development of modern society,the social environment is changing,social and public have made new demands of the museum function,how does the museum whose purpose is not for profit to survive in the competition,and how does it to integrate into society and to play its due role,these are related to museum function development and effective integration between museum and society and its coordinated development.To establish a link between the audience and the museum, allowing viewers to participate in the museum’s exhibition,from receiving information to recycling information, to create a new service and provide a new appreciation experience,so that to truly meet the needs of the audience.This shift will inevitably lead to the museum continued to emphasize its educational function,and enhance the development of social services.In this thesis,part of the museums of Nanjing are as examples to help survey modern educational function and social services development of museum.From the development and innovation based on the modern museum functions,such as museum and education,coordinated development of social services to investigate. To compare and summed domestic and foreign museums,as well as the evolution of the past and the modern museum functions,leading to the conclusion and to identify trends of museum.
