As an important branch of museums, the industrial museum collects the historical and physical data of an industry through the development of various periods, and fully display the historical development of the industry. It plays an important role in inheriting industrial culture, bearing industrial history, popularizing industrial knowledge and other social education. At present, Chinese industrial museums are in a new period of vigorous development, and the importance of their social education function is drawing more and more attention. Along with the rapid development, some factors and problems that restrict the performance of industrial museums' social educational function have been exposed, leading to a result that their social education function cannot have a full play.Based on the reference of research results about the fulfillment of industrial museums' social education function from home and abroad and analysis of the current development of domestic industrial museums, the paper takes B Railr-oad Museum as an example and expands the questionnaire survey and research with the constraint of industrial museums' social education function as the variable. The paper respectively uses methods such as factor analysis and regression analysis to analyze the degree of importance of each factor, and it gets the result:the constraint of social education function of the museum can positively predict its social education function.Through scientific analysis, this paper concludes five important factors which restrict the fulfillment of social education function of B Museum, including: the external propaganda, the degree of specialization of exhibitions, exhibition means, professionals and social education activities. Aiming at important factors above and combining existing problems of the museum, this paper searches the in-depth causes and corresponding countermeasures are actively explored from five aspects such as publicity, exhibition, display, talents and educational activities, which are to improve the social education function of the museum.
