| The fight against corruption in our country has a long history and the anti-corruptioncampaign organized by government has never stopped. Previous ways of anti-corruption includewriting a letter of accusation or presenting the government with a petition, which have made someachievements. However, it is still inefficient on the whole. With the rapid development of digitaltechnology, new media not only plays an increasingly important role in people’s life and work, butalso is gradually changing yet impacting on those traditional models of anti-corruption. It just takea few days from the exposure of official corruption or foul play on the internet to the downfall ofrelated officials, the high efficiency of which has indeed satisfied the public. Looking back tothose countless successful cases of anti-corruption through new media in recent years, we candraw the conclusion that new media has already become the indispensable edge tool of Chineseanti-corruption.The writer’s research object mainly focuses on the internet, one form of new media. First, thepaper analyzes the history and the development of network anti-corruption and shows severalclassic cases in recent years. After the analysis with communication theory, the writer tries to sumup the functions of new media in anti-corruption. In addition, the writer will find out the existingdifficulties and deficiencies in network anti-corruption in three aspects: the internet itself, mediaaudience and institution. In the end, in order to lead the network anti-corruption to develop in avirtuous and sustainable way, the writer will give some feasible suggestions and strategies. |
