With constant development of digital signal processing and computer technology, the producing, broadcasting and monitoring of broadcasting and TV stations have been continuously digitalized, cyberized and automatized, and large number of digital and automatic equipments are needed therefore. The broadcasting and monitoring stations are required to monitor the audio signals to guarantee the broadcasting system to run normally.PC with professional audio cards and DSP are two mostly adopted solutions for the audio monitoring systems existing in the current market. But since PC insertable professional audio cards are few at choice, along with the complicated distribution of the audio cables and the large size and high power consumption of the equipments, the current systems can hardly fulfill the 24x7 non-stop monitoring tasks. While DSP solution lacks flexibility because of the limited DSP functions, and the upgrading of the system is complicated and takes high cost.Taking the above mentioned facts into consideration, we put forward an audio monitoring solution adopting the embedded techniques, which made a breakthrough by implementing automatic controlling and alarming functions without people's intervention. The embedded platform can solve problems like insecurity and instability caused by the PC monitoring solutions most broadcasting and TV stations are currently adopting.This passage was written aiming at embedded audio monitoring system, by analyzing the current industry, doing research of software & hardware type selection for embedded platform, developing the device drivers, designing the application system and debugging the embedded system.This research result can work as a valuable reference regarding the current and coming integrative broadcasting controlling and assisting system, audio intellectual monitoring system, professional audio IP transmission system and professional audio network live broadcasting system.
