Based On Soa, Enterprise-level Pacs Program

With the development of the medicalimaging, and the popularization of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), more and more people realize the importance of Enterprise PACS (or Regional PACS).Enterprise PACS is integration of PACSs, of which duty is to manage PACSs in enterprise. Enterprise PACS has many advantages, for instance about integrating medical resources, saving society cost, and providing telemedicine service.Because different medical institutions have different actual conditions, such as the extent of digitalization, software platform, and system architecture. So, it is very difficult to integrate these medical institutions into Enterprise PACS directly.Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is introduced into Enterprise PACS, and the purpose is to integrate medical institutions which have different platforms, different technologies and different architectures.Firstly, the task, significance, and content are introduced in this paper, and then the basic knowledge of Enterprise PACS and SOA are summaried. At last all the following items are investigated:a. Recording to the characteristic and special requirements of communication, implementation of the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) in Enterprise PACS was studied.b. The concept of Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) was introduced and used in publishment and finding services in Enterprise PACS, and implementation of UDDI integration of Enterprise PACS was described.c. Implementation of description, publishment, discovery, and calling of the Web Services Description Language (WSDL) were researched, and integration of Enterprise PACS was achieved finally.
