This text has introduced how to design and actualize the discharging controller system of optical fiber fusion splicer. The discharge module in optical fiber fusion splicer, is an important components of optical fiber fusion function. Using software control the current density and discharge time, the electrode corresponding to the heat, would enable the two melt into one optical fiber, so, the life stability and durability of electrode are key features with the reliability of the device. In this context, the design of the system, shall be designed the tool by controlling the production of a discharge electrode module to test the reliability of the discharge electrode module, thereby, to aging filter the performance discharge electrode module and the electrode needle, improving module reliability.The processor of discharge control system in the optical fiber fusion splicer currently on the market are generally ARM7 or ARM9, but as the purpose of testing property, from cost and convenience considerations, single-chip microcomputer (SCM) is a good choice, its research and development (R & D) investment period is short, and can obtain the desired results. Therefore, the design uses the 51-series microcomputer as control core, consists of LCD display, serial port chip, power supply and other peripheral equipment, to design a discharge circuit, through the KEIL C software programming of the hardware drivers, so that the two electrodes needle discharge of high-pressure discharge modules in optical fiber fusion splicer can be controlled manually or automatically, so as to test the stability and durability of discharge modules.
