Based On Of Jbpm The Ace Insurance Core Business Systems Development

Currently, insurance companies are competing for their market share. Facing the fierce competition environment, it is necessary for the insurance companies to refactor their business process to maintain their competitive advantage. Thus, their request for a more flexible business operation process has also increased. In addition, due to the complexity of business process, it becomes even more important to ensure stable operation and flexible update of the system. The original core system of ACE was too old, which was not able to support business change in a flexible and speedy way. It encountered errors once its process had been changed, thus the efficiency had been impacted. Therefore, this has become a critical issue for ACE to set a new core system to handle its business process.Firstly, the paper is based on the core business system development for ACE Insurance Company. The current insurance industry situation and issues of the original core business system are analyzed. It's confirmed the necessity for JBPM based core insurance system development. Following that, the main functions of the system is described, and the core business process including policy issuance, underwriting and claim handling are analyzed. Based on this, the core system's architecture of spring MVC+Spring Web Flow+Hibernate is analyzed, and the detailed design of policy issuance, underwriting and claim handling are conducted. The key of the paper is to discuss how to customize the JBPM which is used in design and realize a core business process for continuous refactor so that the process could be made flexible to accommodate the needs of ever changing insurance business. Lastly, the paper came out with further discussion on the benefits that a stable and compatible insurance core system can bring to insurance company.
