| Firstly, there is an introduction about the application occassion of this software. The project is mainly used for VOD of the cities. One city can be divided into several areas, every area can be split into couple of living circles which is made up of some residential communities. The dividing ways work differently according to different characteristics of cities and so forth, there are corresponding servers in every level. Area servers can be considered as head server which includes two parts-material store and data bank. The former saves movie material and the latter stores material information, for example the material name, size, time as well as the server number of material store. There are special technicians managing the head server, uploading the most updated movies to the material store periodly and deleting unnecessary movie materials. On the other hand, the corresponding data bank updates automaticly. Residential communities server refers to the edge server which consists of data bank and material store. Data communication and material transmission can be conducted between every edge server that nobody needs to manage. It visits the head server data bank everyday regularly and compares with the local one after inquiry. If new materials are there, it obtains the store address and then connect with the less-loaded server accoding to loading balance principle as well as update the local server material.Secondly, the paper also refers to the general design of the system. The software includes network transmission , data bank inquiry and file management- three kinds of modules. Apart from this, the paper also gives a detailed analysis and instruction of the functions of every module. The main function of the system is to make the material of edge serve and head server distribute automaticlly and keep the material synchronize between servers.Finally, the paper summarizes my work as well as explains the problems and some necessary improvements in the system. |
