It brought great difficult to the extracting and records.All of the traditional methods of recording petroglyph have their inevitable flaws, and cannot guarantee the completed record of petroglyph. This paper based on summarized the current methods of record and extract and combined with digital image processing technology, then proposed an innovative idea to record and extract the petroglyph. Using the petroglyph in Donghei Gou of Xinjiang as the material of digital image processing. This paper processed petroglyph which has different characteristics in different way and get a good result. This method of dealings petroglyph provides a new way of thinking.
