Fiber laser arouses great interests of scientific researchers with its low threshold, high gain, good beam quality, capable of generating multi-wavelengths and some other advantages. Since the laser waveband at 2μm is safe for eyes. It is also widely used in laser radar, laser ranging, industrial processing, medicine and many other fields. That is why the Tm doping fiber laser outputting at 2μm is paying high attention from researchers all over the world.The thesis concentrate on theoretical and experimental researches of Tm doping fiber laser and the major works are as follows,1.Based on the basic theory of optical fiber laser and the spectral structure, the relationship of laser output power and pump power is calculated simulated and analyzed with the help of optical fiber laser rate equation, power transmission equation and boundary conditions. Meanwhile,the influence of power demonstration,which is caused by different doping concentration and fiber length is simulated with the purpose of getting a conclusion towards how the fiber length effects on pump light adsorption.2.Use F-P cavity for Tm doping fiber laser to study the output power and spectrum feature changes of 793nm output high power laser diode with a changing temperature. The experimental research on spectrum features and output power relationship for the 2μm fiber laser are also included in the research.3.The high power LD is the pumping source for 2μm Tm doping fiber laser. A high Tm doping fiber is the laser medium and the resonant is built by fiber gratings. The threshold of the Tm doping fiber laser is 5W,while the maximum output is 30W. With the help of the experiment we know that once the challenge problems of coupling and heat dissipation of fiber are solved, the realization of the high power 2μm output Tm doping fiber laser will be easier.
