Owing to theoretical research lack of inspection in practical application, this or that kind of problem unavoidably occur when new scientific research achievements once applied in actual production, limits advanced control theory research application in actual industrial production process. It has high practical significance to develop a set experiment device, according to the typical object characteristics in the process control, to test the theory research. In the meantime, to make students of major of automation get more specialized practice exercises chances in their study period, and makes them have a better understanding of knowledge. Thus according to academic theory research needs and automation professional teaching characteristic, we developed quadruple tank process control experiment device. This experimental apparatus includes a typical process control object, quadruple tank, and on the basis of the typical industrial process object we construct the field-bus control system with PLC, and using the OPC communication technology to make industrial control system integration with Matlab and PLC/HMI, and makes some advanced system identification technology and advanced computer control technology can easily applied in industrial control systems, and realized Matlab/simulink real-time networking control.This experiment device system equipped computer with Matlab, WinCC software as monitoring computer, to monitor the level of the quadruple tank and optimization control calculation, Siemens S7-300PLC as controller, analogue expansion module, realize the analog acquisition and control equipment.According to quadruple tank process control experiment device features, quadruple tank as controlled object, according to Bernoulli equation we established quadruple tank mechanism model and determined each parameter of model by system identification; research the multivariable IMC PID algorithm and the MPC algorithm in the application level control of quadruple tank, IMC PID has the advantage of internal model control, while maintaining the characteristics of PID controller, MPC in multivariable control has unique advantage.This experiment device make an innovation platform for undergraduate/graduate students with teaching and scientific research,and it offers a variety of novel experiment course, can achieve a variety of complex algorithms, such as PID control, model predictive control, neural network control and fuzzy control, etc. At the same time, using the experiment device, users can easily expand various experiment, do deep level research of scientific, design and realize various control strategy. This system can be used as experimental platform in the course of'the automatic control principle ", "computer control system", "process control", "process identification", "modern control theory", "intelligent control", automatic control curriculum design, graduation design, innovation design competition of course.
