With the development of the Internet and increasing demands of effective and convenient communication for people with each other, as a new concept of Internet era, Unified Communications(UC) gets more and more people's attention and widespread use. Enterprise Unified Communications gradually becomes an important battleground and focus of competition of many Unified Communications solution vendors. A variety of mature or immature but in the stage of development theoretical systems and implementation techniques have been applied to the Enterprise Unified Communications environment. However, companies often have characteristics and demands such as cross-platform, distributed, powerful, safely controlled and easy for enterprise application integration, so we need effective standards and models to solve these problems.With its ability of processing interoperability and expand capacity and integration of network heterogeneous application system, Web Service is increasingly being used by enterprise applications. Web Service has a set of easy-to-use standards and various mature implementations. If we use Web Service in Enterprise Unified Communications, we can simplify a variety of enterprise applications, especially the interaction between heterogeneous systems, bringing interoperability advantages that other techniques unmatched.In this thesis, we make a comprehensive study of the basic principles, architecture, key technology and application scenarios and other issues of Web Service. Then, based on a practical business application development platform, we analyse the actual needs of customer and third-party applications for Unified Communications business, solving the core business issues in Enterprise Unified Communications field such as voice calling, instant messages, user information operation and user status operation from perspectives of the enterprise business system's key factors such as functionality, security and performance. And then put forward my own Web Service solution in our enterprise-level development platform, and conduct a system framework building and design of program interface and implementation of specific business. Finally we test the system in functionality, performance, security and other aspects. These solution integrated XML, SOAP, WSDL and other core technologies in Web Service specifications, verifying fully the interoperability and usability of Web Service application in the Enterprise Unified Communications environment.It illustrates how the Web Service technology eliminate the difference between platform and language for designer and implementor of Enterprise Unified Communications system, and thus easy to build distributed Unified Communications applications system. Finally in this thesis, we make a summary of Web Service applications in the specific Enterprise Unified Communications environment, and Look to the future.
