Abstract/Summary:
With the fast development of electronic technology, real-time image processing technique is widely used in the fields such as multimedia and image communication and so on. In these systems of digital image processing, a question is put forward on how to process a large amount of real-time image data. Especially, in the fields which need high resolution and good real-time requirements, FPGA now has became an ideal choice of hardware in real-time image processing because of high processing speed, while the research about the implementation of digital image algorithms based on FPGA will be the new key-point in information industry.The main task of the thesis is to do secondary development about the real-time image processing system based on the Anaconda-CL image processing board of Dalsa Inc. This system can accomplish the image processing with high resolution 800×1200 by a hardware way, which implement real-time image acquisition, image edge detection and display on the industrial control computer.The thesis presents the algorithms of edge detection firstly, and then selects the Canny algorithm for the algorithms of system after analysis and comparison. The models of algorithm are built in the Matlab/Simulink and improved with the conditions of hardware achieving and requirements. The models of algorithm are converted to image processing IP core by using FPGA System Generator for DSP. Combining FPGA interface in the Anaconda-CL board, Firmware is designed to carry out in hardware. The development of high resolution and real-time image edge detector system is accomplished and reached the design goal of task.Based on the research achievements in this thesis, the real-time image systems with other function are contrived. This real-time image processing system can be applied in the industrial control because of meeting real-time as well as high resolution. At the same time, the research achievements in this dissertation lay a foundation for the machine vision systems with more function.
