Xml-based Integration Of Heterogeneous Data Sources And Query Technology

With With the development of E-business, it is urgent to integrate the heterogeneous data to extract the commodity information to facilitate the consumers to purchase on Internet for the purpose of B2B and B2C business. Most data on Internet are structured, and some are semi-structured. The XML language provides a satisfied data platform for heterogeneous data integration. Because of the self-description feature of XML language, it is considered as a new carrier for information modeling, exchange and calculation. Thus XML language gives a resolution to the heterogeneous data sources integration and query.This thesis presents a heterogeneous data integration scheme based on XML, illustrates the function structure, including every module and technologies in the scheme. The paper focuses on the presentation of the method to set up XML public model. Taking advantage of the data description superiority, the query pattern is designed and this pattern describes all the related information for heterogeneous database query.The system takes B/S three-layer framework modes and solves following three key problems:The first is the construction of the public model. The public model of XML scheme is designed based on the advantages of data description ability of XML. The model describes all related information for heterogeneous database query. Thus it can provide the users a transparent global database. All the submitted queries are referred to the public model and return the related information by the Web server.The second is the part query for heterogeneous data. Some information of the stores is not expected to be found. The system can limited the users'query scope by affording shared field templates. The users'queries are conducted on the range provided by the stores and the business data securities of the stores are protected.The third key problem is the extraction of SQL query parameters. The system can extract the SQL query parameters from XML documents, implement the union query for the database and return the query results with uniform format. At the end part of the paper, we explain the realization of the integration and query for heterogeneous data in E-business with an example.
