Yuedong Technician, Network Traffic Monitoring And Analysis

With the rapid development of campus network technologies,networks are becoming more and more complicated as the scales of networks are expanding.New applications are emerging and the heterogeneity of networks is deepening.It is necessary to monitor traffic in real time and manage networks on-line.Network traffic measurement and monitoring is one of the most important methods to understand network traffic characteristics.Through network monitoring,we can analyze key applications of network,understand user behavior to using network,such as how often,how many and when.And also,we can find network abnormal,detect network congestion,warning Denial of Service Attacks,and implement troubleshooting and recover of network fault by traffic monitoring.This thesis investigate related works on network traffic monitoring,analysis deeply some of the challenge problems on traffic flow monitoring and analysis,proposed and implemention some ideas and methods.Starting with the nature of the campus network traffic.Through the analysis of the status of campus network,this paper constructs related traffic capture theory,further discusses and researehes the impact of the self-similarity,burst,agreement features etc.of the traffie,and puts forward the idea and method of realizing performance analysis based on the nature of traffie.In addition,combining the third development kit of the SNMP++ and the development way of thinking that is under the Windows.This system makes use of the IP discharge data that router of CISCO provide covariance function, using SNMP.Flowing through connect by a certain network oscular data of IP, press address of IP to carry on to statistics.Flowing through oscular data of IP of the Ethernet, press address of MAC to carry on to statistics respectively.Whose feasibility has already been proved by experiment,which expects to detect abnormal traffic in time and fix network breakdown,and put forwards the performance optimization methods of campus network,which is illustrated from optimization of traffic and agreement of campus network.
