Professional school and college which aim to develop high qualified person are always at the leading edge of the scientific technology. Computerization the status & score of the students is becoming the important step for making scientific decision and also a necessary way to create a new solution on student management. Management Information System (MIS)is a system which is consist by computer and administrator. The system is used for information collection, transfer, process, storage, maintenance and usage. It's a systematization borderline science which Integrate management technology, system theory and computer science. VisualFoxPro is a RDBMS whose traits are storage method singleness, object-oriented, support ODBC, fast data processing and lower developing cost. It provides following functions: database sheet, inquiry, form, report form, menu etc. These functions make it easy and simple to data storage, data inquiry, interfacial design, report generating etc. So it becomes one of the quickest and most practical software.This thesis mainly expressed how to use VisualFoxpro6.0 to design a student status & study score management system which suit for professional schools, colleges and universities. This system has two management functions of student status management and score management through three Modules: system maintenance, student status management and score management.The system design considers the difference of organization and unit set up of the user. This system avoids designing database and database form with project editor when set up database and database form. The system is set through editing to set up different organization & unit set up which make the system easier to transplantThe maintenance module of the system is mainly designed for operation environment which include the adding, deleting, inquiry & editing college, specialized unit & class of the university. This module is mainly to set up the database for the student status and score in order to make the other 2 modules implement smoothly.The student status management module is mainly used to set up majors and creates, edit, and delete, inquiry and output for the file data. The student status management modules rely on the performance of maintenance module. The System maintenance design operates well then the student status management module also operates well. Both modules can impact each other.The Score management module mainly input, edit, inquire, statistic, output the student score. The score management module good operation replies on good operation of the maintenance module & student status operation. The three modules have very close relation.Meantime, the system set up the function of the authority for the administrator, backup the data & data recovery etc.This MIS can solve the problem of traditional manual management which is low efficiency, less confidential, not easy to inquire and the issue of updating and maintenance. The MIS can improve the efficient of student status management & score management and save the education cost. The above function achieve the management of the school systematically, standard, informationization, scientific.
