With the expansion of computer applications, software has become the driving force for people's living standard improvement and social development in many areas. The expansion of software applications and complexity of software requirements call for much higher standard of software quality. There have been long-time discussions in terms how to improve software quality. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to improve the software development process.Software development is a complex task. It requires experienced engineers, advanced technologies and good processes to guarantee a satisfactory product. Rational Unified Process (RUP) is a software engineering process which was developed by the Rational Software Company. It was developed based on many outstanding research achievements in the area of object-oriented software engineering. Using a new visual modeling standard UML (Unified Modeling Language), it can provide guidance for the development of object-oriented software system. RUP is one kind of architecture-centered development method that uses Case Driven, Iteration and Increment. Compared with the traditional software development methods, RUP method can effectively reduce risks and better adapt to changes of requirements. In china, There are have a big gap in the construction of information in the different industry of enterprises, such as the enterprises of petrifaction, steel and automobile, which have been possessed the level of information close to the international counterparts, however the level of information is much lower in the enterprises of textile and light industry, the specific content of information technology application have a greater difference among them. Whether OA, ERP, or CRM is the present social mainstream informational office, the electronic order system is just emerged in this background. In order to achieve internal and external of marketing and services for mobile unified information integration applications after the information office extended to the mobile client, to solve the various potential problems in production for enterprises.Based on the analysis of the RUP process and core idea of the RUP, this thesis adopts UML modeling language to carry out researches in accordance with the project development of"Electronic Components Order Management System". The main works and achievements of this thesis are as follows: 1. Following a brief introduction of several popular software development processes, the traditional software development methods and object-oriented software development methods are analyzed and compared. The Rational Unified Software Development Process (RUP) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML), as well as PowerBuilder, which is the development tool of"Electronic Components Order Management System", are described in details. Furthermore, the advantages of the RUP-based Unified Modeling Language (UML) in the software system design and production are analyzed.2. With the consideration of the project situation, RUP is converted into concrete implementation steps which are used to guide the project development process. By adopting the RUP theory, the"Electronic Components Order Management System"has been designed using UML. Firstly, the process how to get the requirement of"Electronic Components Order Management System"is described by using the Use Case method, and the detailed analysis for the requirements is performed. With the analysis of each user's use case class, and the relationship of these classes, the entity class diagram of"Electronic Components Order Management System"can be obtained. Finally, the overall structural design of"Electronic Components Order Management System"which is based on designing of class diagrams has been accomplished. The database based on the function requirements of"Electronic Components Order Management System"has been designed.3. The"Electronic Components Order Management System"has been developed according to functional decomposition by using PowerBuilder and SQL SERVER. The successful development and practical operation of"Electronic Components Order Management System"shows that the system fully meets the requirements and has achieved good results.The development process of"Electronic Components Order Management System"using RUP-based core idea and UML application has been proved to be able to define the object-oriented software system model clearly and quickly. Integrating random analysis and design can shorten the development period, improve product's quality and increase transparency of management. Finally the software products which fully meet customer's requirements have been delivered in time.
