Mathematics plays an important part in human cultures. We can find it everywhere in our daily life. And it is also one of the required subjects we learn from primary school to high school. Students spend much time on mathematics, but there are still some differences among different students during the process of their mathematics-study, for example, some students study very hard, but they still cannot get high marks. So improving the teaching quality is very important, either to the students themselves or to meet the needs of the development of the school, their parents and the society.Does sex have an effect on their Mathematics ability? Can we reduce the differences by means of teaching? This paper talks about the reasons for these differences between male and female high school students caused by the psychic differences, psychological differences, non-intelligence factors, society and the influence of the family. It is based on the theory of the research both home and abroad, and using the ways just as interviewing students as a whole, using the questionnaire, analyzing the scores, studying the demonstration, interviewing different students separately, etc. girls are better at memorizing things, even those they don't understand, while boys can understand the things better than girls. Boys used to thinking about the question as a whole, while girls are used to starting to think about a question just from one part. Therefore, boys are better than girls in the flexibility of solving the difficult problems, while girls are better in the accurateness of some basic questions.According to the actual situation, it gives some ways to reduce the differences of their mathematics-study. First, establish gender consciousness and change the teaching evaluation. We should pay attention to how they can bear it. We should encourage them more, and should not hurt their enthusiasm of study. Second, create a good psychological environment. Second, using different teaching methods according to the sexual differences of study, that means teaching students in accordance of their aptitude and sex. We should expose the process of thinking properly, both teachers' and students'. Let the students develop the mathematics thought during the discussion and exploration, especially to develop the independence and go-aheadism of girls. Third, help the students to develop a strong will in study and tell them not to give up when they meet the difficulties, and eliminate psychological difficulties during the process of learning mathematics. Fourth, cultivate the girls' emotional consciousness. Girls are more sensitive than boys, so the teachers should guide them to have self-confidence in learning mathematics and improve such kind of confidence. Fifth, encourage girls and boys cooperate with each other, we should guide the students using the correct ways to find out where the problem exists in order to improve their abilities of solving the problem. This research is based on the practice in order to prove the feasibility of the methods after putting forward the idea. But because of the limitation of the time, scope, etc, there are still some limitations.
