We have got a great achievement in the Postgraduate Education of Normal University due to the enlargement of student-recruitment in the universities since 1999,transporting a large number of talents and promoting the development of social economy.However,the way of expanding largely makes some deep problems clear in the Postgraduate Education of Normal University,among them how to increase the practical ability of postgraduates in the Normal University becomes a spot question that causes more attention in the public,and the teaching practice ability is an important part of practice ability of Normal University Postgraduates,so it gets much attention.In the 21century with the development of knowledge and science has proposed the higher demands for the education background and synthetic quality of teachers.To be an important component and an independent arrangement of higher education,the Postgraduate Education of Normal University is the main source of high quality teachers,its quality is related to entire development of graduate student education even the higher education. Normal Universities and Colleges always has the fine tradition and advantages in cultivating the teacher and the employment of more Postgraduates begin to focus on the school and choose to be front line of teaching from the employment situation of these several years.Under actual circumstances,the author considers that the postgraduate education of Normal Universities should be geared to the demands of middle school and mainly producing excellent teachers for middle school and vocational school.But affected by the traditional education theory that values theory highly but practice lightly,the class inner highly but the outer lightly,the school teaching practice link is weak and the student is short of necessary teaching practice training leading to worse teaching practice ability.The employment prospect of Normal University Postgraduates is pessimistic in the past few years and they are also confronted with the unemployment possibilities.So the latent unemployment pressure makes the practical ability of postgraduate very important.Therefore it is meaningful that we discuss how to increase the practical ability of the postgraduates in the Normal University with the background of popularization of Higher Education and the opening of normal education gradually today.The article has divided five parts.The first part is the preface,pointing out the meanings and the ideas and the relevant research summary of this research,as well as the research methods used in it.The second part has analyst the connotation,type and characteristic of teaching practice ability.The third part has analyst the necessity and feasibility from the cultivation object and the main task of postgraduate education in the Normal University,an urgent demand of new course innovation,the needs of specialization of teaching career,good tradition and advantages of Normal University as well as the current situation and the trend of employment of postgraduates in the Normal University.The fourth part has pointed out the teaching practice ability' current situation of The Postgraduate Education in the Normal university,and made analysis of causes from three aspects:country and society,university and director and postgraduates themselves.The fifth part has discussed the countermeasures to improve the teaching practice ability of The Postgraduate Education in Normal university from following aspects:promoting thinking and making the cultivated purpose more clear,reforming the curriculum,reforming teaching methods;improving tutors' direction and practice teaching ability, paying attention to education practice link,controlling the sources quality aspect of postgraduates,perfecting teacher credentials system and so on.Standing in starting point of new century,facing the changing world all the time,The Postgraduate Education in the Normal University as the cultivation basis and cradle of high-caliber teachers is doubly focused attention upon.So I think that improving the teaching practice ability of postgraduates in Normal university is a very important and realistic problem of The Postgraduate Education in the new period,and we should deal with and solve the problem seriously.
