Competition is between qualified people in different fields in the 21st century.The key to education is to have people trained to be more creative,have more abilities,to be highly-qualified and to be developed in an all-round way.Curriculum Reform of Basic Education just started in middle schools in Tianjin in the fall of 2005.Math,as a basic subject,plays a very important role in the development of physical science and social science,so students should learn it from elementary school all the way through high school.Teaching Reform in Math is the most important consideration in the process of realizing the goals of the new curriculum.Classroom is the place where we implement the teaching reform,while the main key is to get teaching methods and strategies changed.New curriculum requires that students are the center of teaching.Teachers give the right of thinking,judging, experiencing and exploring back to students as much as possible.Teachers come up with problems which need to be solved.They shouldn't pay as much attention to the results as what they did before.Instead,teachers should have students participate in the process of designing,studying,experiencing so that students can form their own points of view and study creatively.Teaching Research is on the right track of being from imparting knowledge to building skills,from valuing results to paying attention to process.Teachers make up for the traditional teaching modes by teaching in accordance with individual differences and different kinds of individual development, which will be the trend of Teaching Mode Reform in China.Research-based teaching is the main content of curriculum reform and is the right approach to education for all-around development.This dissertation not only illustrates the main idea and theory basis of research-based teaching,but also summarizes some strategies,such as target steering,situational dialogue,independent inquiry,positive experiences,doubt solving,collaborative inquiry,assessment and reflection;acknowledge forming,different exercises and inductions.Those are under the guidance of new curriculum reform by questionnaire survey.This dissertation uses the experiment method of equivalent groups to study the method,the way and the effect of research-based teaching in the new materials of math teaching,and also to analyze the results of the experiment carefully.Through analysis we can see that teachers can get research-based teaching improved and realize its value,if they use it wisely.A successful research-based teaching can stimulate student's interests effectively,help increase their grades and build up their creative intelligence.
