Miniaturization Of The Physical Education Curriculum Subjects Thinking

Guided by the Physical Education Course Guided Outline of Countrywide Colleges and Universities issued in 2002, the teaching reform on physical education has brought about the diversification of the curriculum model. However, the monotonous teaching model of elective courses still dominates, despite the practice in some colleges and universities of the varieties of physical education curriculum including compulsory courses and expansion courses. The question of whether the monotonous elective course teaching model is a necessity for college physical education has thus been put forward in this paper.The miniaturized and subject-oriented physical education curriculum is only one of the curriculum types, aiming at achieving specific objectives, content as well as organization forms so as to meet the requirements of the teaching reform on college physical education. The research on this type of curriculum focuses on ways to improve the monotonous physical education curriculum model, promoting its innovation and realizing its individualization and diversification.Much practical experience has been accumulated on how to construct miniaturized and subjected-oriented physical education courses. Beijing University, Shenzhen University and Great Wall Tourism College of China University of Economy and Trade have all adopted this type of curriculum in either their physical education courses or expansion courses. The author holds that physical education courses are categorized into three types: elective courses, compulsory courses and expansion courses. This paper focuses on the research on constructing miniaturized and subjected-oriented physical education courses in the latter two types. Taking into account the fact that the teaching hours of the miniaturized course is far below 36 which helps to gain one credit point, decimal points system can be adopted.This research has great significance on promoting the teaching reform on physical education courses; in addition, it is also instructive to our physical education teachers.
