Self-regulated learning (SRL) refers to the capability to control all aspects of one's learning, from planning in advance to how one evaluates performance afterwards. As acquired capability, SRL can make an important difference in people's lifelong development. Today, more and more students are asked to become self-regulated learners to adjust to the fast development of society.The research first mentions the definition of SRL, its basic theories, the influence elements , its basic features and research development at home and abroad. Then the author does a survey about the present classroom teaching and analyses the current problems existing in class in senior high school. The author finds that the current teacher-centered classroom teaching isn't beneficial to the development of the students' SRL capability.As a result, the author decides to use the SRL theory as a guide to reform the traditional classroom teaching, changing the teacher-centered classroom teaching to student-centered classroom teaching. In the essay, the author shows the most beneficial teaching procedures that promote students' SRL in class : presenting objectives, activating intrinsic motivation, directing students to master the learning contents independently, examining students' learning, group discussion, teacher's expositing language keys and difficulties, consolidating exercises, and making a summary. In a new classroom teaching pattern, students should act as self-instructors rather than receivers, and teachers should serves as guides, promoters , helpers, resource offers, assessors rather than lecturers. After two-month teaching practice, the author does a questionnaire about SRL and interviewed partial students .The result proves that guided by their teachers, students can learn in an effective and independent way by changing their traditional learning method, besides, their SRL capability can be promoted in the new teaching pattern. Finally, author inquires into some problems still existing in the research.
