On the background of informationization of education, the research progress of learning theory, and the development of multi-media and network technology, it is now possible to pursue the full exertion and optimization of information technology in education. The educational virtual community based on the Internet, which is seen as a burgeoning educational space, is attracting certain academic attention under such circumstances. However, the construction of educational virtual community is not contented with people, as well as its present application. Then, how to construct the humanistic educational virtual community with the modern technology? How to teach and learn by it? And how do we achieve not only the community's own development but the success of teaching communication in it at the same time? These questions are all valuable to the researchers who major in educational technology.Just based on the questions above, this research is proposed. With the teaching practice of the curriculum Learning Sciences & Learning Technologies, and combining with theoretical investigation and case studies, this research firstly concludes the present situation of related areas, domestic and foreign ones, points out the existing questions and its development in future. By analyzing the related concepts, basic theories and principles, the author gives out the system structure and model of Curriculum-based Educational Virtual Community, designs and develops the system.Meanwhile, the most important technologies and function parts are introduced in detail. After the complete development, the system is put into practice for a trial. And by investigation, lots of data of feedback and results of evaluation are obtained, which means a lot to the development of the whole system. Finally, the conclusion and its future direction of the research are given out.It is not hard to know, by analyzing, the present EVC has provided an effective plat for all the teachers and students. On this plat, students can not only accept knowledge, but compose themselves. Besides, both teachers and students will communicate and cooperate well on it. This process will be helpful either to the improvement of students' capability or to the evaluation on students, no matter the process evaluation or the conclusive one. Of course, it is just the beginning. Many problems on it still need to be faced in future.To sum up, we have every reason to believe Curriculum-Based Educational Virtual Community will contribute a lot to teaching and learning under the informationization surroundings.
