As an outstanding cultural legacy, martial art is not only a special traditional Chinese sport, but also a significant part of the world sport culture. Being a special cultural form, it has a very rich cultural content. With the development of times, the value of martial art has been given more and more attention. Since 1950s, in order to pass on and develop this national treasure, martial art, it has been regulated as a key part of the physical education in our country. Up to now, martial art has become an important part of the course of physical education in colleges and universities. Teachers of martial art are shouldering the sacred task of promoting and developing it in colleges and universities. In such a new situation, carrying out a research on the current situation of martial art teachers in colleges and putting forward corresponding strategies and suggestions are of great significance in the promotion and development of this sport as well as furthering the reform of teaching martial art. Therefore, the author randomly selected 30 martial art teachers, 15 leaders in charge, and 340 students who chose martial art in 10 common colleges and universities as the subjects, based the research on education, logics, sociology and the science of sports and training, carried out a research and analysis on the current situation of martial art teachers in Beijing through comprehensive research methods, such as referring to documents, statistics, and interview of experts.Through the research and survey, it's found that the martial art teachers in the universities and colleges of Beijing are young, energetic and full of vitality. This martial art teaching group mainly consists of young and middle-aged teachers. With good teaching capability and the spirit of renovation, they are active, conscientious and enthusiastic. Not only vitality but also the character of the time can be found on them. However, there are still some problems: there are the shortage of teachers, shortage of martial art teachers of higher education background, the weak capability of scientific research and the lack of academic atmosphere. Taking the above phenomena into consideration, the leaders in the universities and colleges should pay more attention to the teaching staff of martial art. They may offer advantageous conditions for the martial art teachers to have further education, establish green passages, and enlarge the investment in order to improve the education level of martial art teachers. Meanwhile, while new martial art teachers are recruited, requirement on education should be raised. In order to accelerate the martial art teachers to change into the types of researchers and experts, and to improve their teaching and research levels, various channels should be applied, such as inviting well-known experts, scholars to give exclusive lectures, the exchange of essays and the research of different subjects.
