Our country is the first examination big country,which is also the unique one that the university student identity is admitted by the government departments in the world.The matriculation is more than a simple examination,but an important event of the citizen life in our country. The examination concerns the national education and even the social as well as the political stability.The bone structure of the current university entrance examination formed in the 50's in last century,and it was finally formulated in the 80s.Up to now, the situation of our country has undergone great changes. The planned economy system has transferred to the market economy system.The development target of nation mainly focuses on constructing an affluent, harmonious and innovative society. Besides, the higher education which was intented for the most talented also has turned into a "popularize stage". Hence, the current matriculation system cannot meet the requirements of the changes. So an overall and great reform in the examnation is in an urgent need.Actually, since the recovery of the national university entrance examination in 1977, reforms in this examination system has never stopped .Great changes have taken place in the reform both of the university examination system and of the university enrollment system.But these still have not tackled many contradictions such as unity and multiplicity ;generality and individuality; efficiency and justice and so on.Thus the blame on the university entrance examination also has never stopped.In 1997 both Chinese education and the Chinese examination paper in that year's university entrance examination were strongly criticized , which sparked off a nationwide condemn to the existing system. The words in this criticism were so vigorous and sincere that overnight the system became the common target of public criticism.Some people thought that it was an obstacle and even a disaster for our country's development and prosperity .On the other side others held the oppisite opinion that this system was a must in China. Standing on the educational platform of the 21st century, we feel an urgent demand that the current system of university entrance examination ,which has been practised in China for almost 30 years ,and one part of it,the Chinese examination,which has made great influence upon the Chinese education should be analyzed and summarized thoroughly in an objective and calm manner.Hopefully the reform will have a leap of quality progress in the 21st century ,which is full of opportunities and dreams.Based on the logic thinking mode of induction and deduction ,through the research method of adopting related historical books, conparing and contrasting useful information, the article makes an overall analysis on the reforms of the current matriculation system and the Chinese examinaton paper.furthermore, it also puts forward some assumptions and reform projects.The full article is divided into three parts:foreword, body and conclusion.The body is made up of five chapters.Foreword : briefly introduce the origin of the existing university entrance examination, its contents,characteristics, as well as the meaning of research on this examination system.Chapter 1: an overwiew of contemporay research on the reform of university entrance examination .This chapter has two sections, section 1 focuses on the research about the matriculation system, and section 2 concerns the reform and research in Chinese papers of this examination system .Section 1 gives a summary of three research fields including internal factors of the system ,the relationship between the system and its various external factors and the comparison on different matriculation systems.Section 2 gives a summary on another three different aspects ,that is, research on the contents and methods of Chinese teaching and examining ;comparison on Chinese papers in this system and the relationship between Chinese national examinations and Chinese teaching mode.Chapter 2 :the reform process of the university entrance examination system in the new period.This chapter is the detailed statement and expanation based on Chapter one and it contains two sections. Section one deals with the system reform process, while section 2 reviews the reform of Chinese examination paper in this system.Chapter3:the advantages and disadvantages of the current matriculation system and the reasons for its formation and existence. On the basis of Chapter two, chapter three expatiates the gains and losses of the system including its Chinese subject examination and further explains the reasons .Chapter 4: the overseas current situation of university entrance examination and its inspiration to our country's reform on it.This chapter presents the present conditions of the university entrance examination in the United States, the U.K, Japan and the Taiwan region. It also puts forward an apocalypse by studying the characteristics of these countries'examination systems.Chapter 5: the assumption of the future reform of the university entrance examination.In this chapter, I put forward my assumption of the future reform of the current matriculation system based on the analysis of chapter 2, 3 and 4. Two kinds of reform projects are proposed in the reform assumption of the university entrance examination and three in the reform assumption of Chinese papers .Besides, I also analyze their merits and demerits in the hope of absorbing the good points and discarding the bad ones.Thus we can have an ideal reform project of university entrance examination.Conclusion:Point out the drawbacks of this article and express the research direction in future...
