| During the era of knowledge economy, knowledge, taking the place of material capital,has become the most important factor of production. As the main concourse for cultivatingthe talents, teaching knowledge and conducting scientific research, the institution of highereducation plays a more and more important role in social economy, especially in theregional economy. And it has walked up from the brink to the centre of the regional society,knowing as the engine for the regional society, economy and technological development.However, it is an urgent problem that what kind of models the institution of highereducation would choose to join the development of regional economy and society, whichalso arouses the extensive attention from the relevant circles. During the era of knowledgeeconomy, the institution of higher education would bring massive economic benefits andsocial benefits once it finds the suitable models.This thesis, based on the institution of higher education function theory, human capitaltheory, knowledge economy theory, regional development theory and game theory, byobjectively analyzing the relation of correlate subjects of models, classifies and analyzesmodels according to three functions of the institution of higher education, that is, the talentcultivating model, scientific research and development model and social service offeringmodel. After analyzing the characteristics and relative merits of each model, the thesistakes the institutions of higher education in Nanjing as the examples to discuss the existingproblems and put forward the countermeasures. The author hopes this thesis could exertmacro-theoretical guide for the institution of higher education and provide quotablemeasures in the practice. |
