Study Of Local Colleges And Social Service Issues

The social service function is the latest function of the three main functions of university. With the fast development of the social economy, it shows its importance gradually. However, in China, for the colleges and universities, especially for the local colleges and universities, it is a weak link. Therefore, our government and educational field pay more attention to the issue on social service of local colleges and universities.This dissertation mainly analyzes the issue on social service of local colleges and universities. In the foundation of absorbing the former research and using these methods of the investigation study, comparative study, demonstration analysis, etc. and learning from theories and practices of American local colleges and universities, the author makes effort to elaborate the problems in social service of local colleges and universities and development strategy in China.This dissertation will be divided into four parts, besides introduction and conclusion.Chapter One: Summarize the development and evolution of social service function of domestic and international local colleges and tmiversities.Chapter Two: Firstly, introduce the b.ackground of American local colleges and universities; and then make an analysis on American local colleges and universities, summarize the inspiration from it and demonstrate what our local colleges and universities should care about in carrying out social service.Chapter Three: Demonstrate from the content, field expansion of local colleges and universities in China and service modes. In the view of the present situation about local colleges and universities and the problems in its social service, the author states the weakness of development. Take Qingdao Development & Research Center as an example, state that by means of its Development & Research Center, Qingdao University shows its function of social service and makes contribution for the development of local society.Chapter Four: Based on analysis of the above mentioned, the author demonstrates several advices on social service of local colleges and universities in China: change opinions in social service of local colleges and universities, strengthen the Consciousness of social service of local colleges and universities, formulate the ability of social service of local colleges and universities, construct the system of social service and achieve harmonious development between local government and local colleges and universities.
