Being honest and credible is a traditional virtue of Chinese people, which means telling the truth and keeping one's words. With the development of market economy and China's entry into WTO, this virtue is being more and more appreciated. As the ones receiving higher education, the contemporary college students will become the backbone of the society, and their morality makings will directly influence the tenor of Chinese modernization construction even the future destiny of our motherland. In recent years, influenced by various negative factors in the social transition period, credit crisis can be found in every domain of the society, eroding people's morality, thoughts and their sense of value. The college students are influenced without exception, which has aroused extensive concern from society. Therefore, to strengthen college students'moral education should be taken as not only the responsibility of educators, but also an urgent mission for the entire society.Based on literary review and the author's own experiences, this paper explores how to make the students honest and credible through educational measures.The first part of this article analyzes the connotation of being honest and credible, and the changes in the mainstream value on good credit from ancient time to modern society. Based on the full absorption of the reasonable elements in ancient Chinese thinkers'ideas on honesty and good credit, this paper aims to explore the scientific connotation of credit, to entrust with the connotation the new spirit of the age and to make the new sense of the virtue a combination of historical tradition and the new spirit of the age.The second part analyzes the main manifestation and cause of credit crisis of the contemporary students.
