Abstract/Summary:
With the flourishing of multidisciplinary research, the research of university culture gradually becomes a new hot spot in the area of higher education research in China from the 1990s. University cultural conflict is a topic, which has been less discussed and is worthy to be studied.Based on the definition of the concepts, using the relative theory of cultural research, this article tried to establish a common theoretical framework for the university cultural conflict research, and tried to analyze the cultural conflict phenomena in current colleges and universities in China during the period of transition.The article is composed of three parts, which are introduction, body and finis.The content of the introduction include the research background, meaning of the research and the research situation at home and abroad.The body of the article consists of four chapters.Chapter 1 is mainly about the definition of the relative concepts. The concept of university culture should be defined from two perspectives. The first, from the macroscopic visual angle, university culture is an aggregation of value system and practical activity style, which was possessed by every university man;the second, from the microscopic visual angle, university culture is an aggregation, which was composed of different university subculture. University cultural conflict is the cultural antagonistic phenomena and process inner or outer of colleges and universities, occurred between cultures because of the cultural difference.Chapter 2 mainly explored the theoretical foundation of the research from three relative theories, which are anthropology, sociology of teaching and management theory. In the author's viewpoints, the research should establish its theoretical foundation on relative culture theories from different disciplines.Chapter 3 is mainly about the classification, mechanism and process of university cultural conflict.Chapter 4 analyzed the cultural conflict in current colleges and universities during the period of transition in China, include the cultural conflict between market economy culture and university culture and the cultural conflict between elite higher education and mass higher education.In the part of finis, the author put emphasis again on the significance of the research. Meanwhile, the author also summarized the shortages of his research, and pointed out the ways to perfect the research in the future.
