The teaching of classical Chinese has always been the focus and the difficulty of the Chinese teaching. Under the guideline of the new curricula standards, the teaching of classical Chinese has been adjusted: firstly the percentage of the classical style of writing in the teaching material has increased from the 20% to 40%; secondly, in the studying of classical style of writing, the role of intoning the text has been emphasized and the quantity and contents to be recited have been stipulated. The teaching of classical Chinese has increasingly drawn attention, but the traditional explanative teaching pattern is too unitary. Usually the teacher makes a word-for-word explanation, focusing too much on the clear sentences and characters. This makes the contents in the class become an explanation of the knowledge of the ancient Chinese and ignores its rich humanitarian implications. And it isn't beneficial for self-learning of the students. Therefore, this paper puts forward the proposition that both elements of texts and language should be emphasized in the teaching of classical Chinese in the middle school and a new mode of teaching of classical style of writing should be established. In accordance of the requirements of the new"Chinese Curricula standards"combined with the psychologically absorbing characteristics of students and peculiarity of the classical Chinese itself, constructional learning theories, humanistic learning theories and the inductive teaching theories have been incorporated and applied to the teaching pattern of the classical style of writing. A new teaching mode of classical style of writing has been constructed from two perspectives of"language"and"text".The teaching mode of"language"is to guide students to categorize the knowledge of characters, words and sentences with specific purposes and plans. Through the process of categorizing, students should be helped to sum up the structure principles and thus construct students' knowledge diagram of classical style of writing and achieve the self-learning ability. It's constructed in both the horizontal and vertical ways. The so-called horizontal inductive mode is that, in the process of teaching of classical style of writing, the teacher can explain some recurring phenomena and help students to induce such language phenomena, extract their commonness, form some concept and grasp its language principle.
