"Emotion presentation via color" means that children paint on his or her own perceptual and cognitive awareness of color. Videlicet speaking, it means children choose their personalized color during making the artworks. For example, they represent the emotion of angry by using the red color on the character's face and so on..There are no deep research about the color itself except those about the aesthetic taste and aesthetic presentation. In this article, the researcher investigated how the children, of 5~6 years old, represent the emotions via color. In this study, the researcher choose four kind of emotion, those are "happiness", "fear", "anger", "sadness" and provided the backgrounds of each kind of emotion for the 5~6 -year-old children to experience, then asked them to "externalize" and "present" the four kinds of emotion by painting. The researcher observed the process of their choosing and painting process, and got a general result after valuating children's artworks under the help of the conversation with them. Then summed up the characters which showed out in the process, and analyzed them by using the theories of psychology of children. And the researcher found that, generally speaking, the children are on the germination of the presentation of emotions via color, most of them are in the period of using favorite and realistic color; Among the four represent activities, the representation of "Hapiness"is the most impressive, "Fear" and "Anger" are the middle and "Sadness" is the worst; Children seldom consider to use the methods of choosing the color, the color's amount and arrangement; When they paint, they depend on their feeling rather than their sense; They pay more attention to the picture's "aesthetic feeling" than making a "the preventive " effect; Children put more meaning in the color than what people can get just from the picture's shape or form; The different preference of boys and girls affects the presentation clearly. It is also affected by the materials and the painting style—realistic and abstract style. At last, the researcher pointed out that to know the "mode" of children's artwork can help the supervisors to understand and guide them; More experience should be provided; Give a necessary help to children: inspire them that they can form an expressive tune by choosing the color, the color's amount and arrangement; Encourage them to try colors one by one; And advocated a kind of communication between children themselves about their artworks.
