Showing concern for the students about their development of sentiments and attitude is the basic goal of the new-round curriculum of mathematics. To realize this goal, the development of mathematics learning sentiments (hereafter MLSs) of junior middle school students (namely from grade 7 to grade 9) should be explored deeply.This article focused on the development of MLSs. The present paper, by means of literature analysis, defined what is MLS, discussed its connotation under the new curriculum reform of mathematics. On the basic of theoretical analysis, the author designed a questionnaire for MLSs of junior middle school students.By questionnaire and interviews, the author investigated and analyzed the current situation of the MLSs both in the experimental area of mathematical curriculum reform and in unexperimental area. The main conclusions are:1. Generally, the development level of the subjects' MLSs is not high enough. In the concrete, junior middle school students, at present, develop moderate learning interests and good cognition to the importance of mathematics. They do not experience mathematics learning very well;2. The subjects are seriously lack of mathematical aesthetic conceptions;3. There is no distinct difference between the experimental area and un-experimental area, but there is distinct difference between them on the factor of 'experience of mathematics learning';4. MLSs highly and positively correlate with the scores of the mathematics. Significant distinctions exsit between different grades, genders and good & bad learners respectively.
