The conception of mathematics is defined as how to think about mathematics in all. It belongs to philosophy of mathematics. As Society develops and reforms in mathematics curriculum are carried out, people change their overall views on mathematics from static conception of mathematics to dynamic conception of mathematics. To mathematics education , people stress the essential reforms in the conception of mathematics, that is to say, the conception of mathematics changes from static and absolute to dynamic ,empirical and imitatively empirical.The purpose of this research is to investigate the views on mathematics of the junior high school students who are learning the new curriculum. The investigation is to understand the current situation and characteristics of the views with especial attention paid to the differences of views of students of different grades, genders and schools. The purpose of the research is to lead math teachers to reflect upon their own math teaching and thus provide some references for mathematics educational reform of junior schools.The study shows that the mathematics viewpoint of the students in Junior high school is correct. They are serious to the mathematics study, and recognize the mathematics nature well. They also can understand the mathematics in the broad sense. The most students think that mathematics can develop person's thought, and is applied in production, life and all walks of life. But some one still has doubt in the understanding to the questions upon.
