Education technology gets great development at the pushing of the fast development of computer technology, electronic technology, communicating technology and Internet technology. It will bring a huge influence in education in all aspects, as the development and application of education technology. In this dissertation author try to discuss and analyze university teacher roles under the modern education technology and build a clear vision on teacher roles in new era.This dissertation includes seven parts.In Part I, the basic concepts in relation to this dissertation are defined as follows: technology, education technology, modern education technology, role, and teacher roles.In Part II, the author expound the history and the application of modern education technology at universities.In Part III, the author analyze the possibility and necessity of university teacher roles under the modern education technology. It is the development and perfection of the hardware technology, potential-ware technology and the software technology that provide the possibility for the changing of the university teacher roles; talking about the necessity of the changing of university teacher roles, the author think there are three aspects: the modern education technology change the goal, as well as content of education; the change of mode of knowledge transfer hi education, impacting on students and teachers.In Part IV, systemic analyses are done on traditional teacher roles as well as the localizations of that. There are tow kinds of traditional university teacher roles. They are the persons of knowledge transfer and the supervisor of the university.In Part V, author tried to erect the university teacher roles under the modern education technology and put forward four kinds of teacher roles: one, university teacher is mentor and promoter of the students. 2, university teacher is the innovator. 3, university teacher is collaborator. 4, university teacher is learner.In Part VI, the author tried to put forward some strategy of changing university teacher roles under the modern education technology. First is changing idea of university teacher. Second is improving information literacy of university teacher. Third is enhancing the education technologytraining to university teacher. The last is accelerating the exploitation of the teaching software.In Part VII, the author gave a summarization to the whole dissertation.The new era endow university teacher roles with a new meaning under the modern education technology. They must be organizers who are in harmony with knowledge and technology, then they can face to the future and cultivate lots of ridgepoles.
