The School Crisis Management

Crisis management came from military management and developed in business and public management, it is becoming more important in school management. Crisis is easy to breakout in schools, which make the research on school crisis management necessary.School crisis exist in or/and out of schools, it will bring something bad to physics and/or persons. School crisis management is a systematical responsive procedure to prevent, deal with and evaluate the potential and real crisis. School crisis management focus on three kinds of crisis, they are: (l)relative to security of life and body; (2)harm for the healthy operation of school functions; (3)bad for the fame of school, faculty and students.School crisis management can be divided into three parts:the first part is daily crisis management in school. It focus on establishing the system of precaution in school, including assessment of crisis risk, daily crisis management plan, crisis precaution system, crisis management team, training, crisis communication and crisis warning system.The second part is management of school crisis incident, including making responsive plan, establishing incident command system, communicating and managing information and getting recovery from crisis. Management of school crisis incident is the key part of school crisis management.The third part is evaluation on school crisis management, including evaluation on daily crisis management, on management of school crisis incident, on the whole crisis management in school. The value of evaluating school crisis management lies in enhancing the ability of crisis management. Review on incident of two gunmen at Colorado school in America will give us some reference to evaluation on school crisis management.
