CIS -Corporation Identity System design, which is an integrated system by itself and also an important instrument in designing the image of business companies, has been widely applied, within or outside the country, to increase the publicity of finished products. As result, many firms have overcome their difficulties or embarked on a rapid development.The image and popularity of our country present colleges have an increasingly important part not only in attracting professionals and student enrollment but also in proving teaching quality and heightening its publicity.In recent years there has been some efforts to integrate CIS design into college education management. The present paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of CIS design in higher education management, extending the scope to cover the aim and function of the design, instances of its applications in varied social organizations, as well as the possibility of combining CIS design and higher education management. The basic principles methods suggested in CIS theory can be utilized by various social organizations in image design and identification. The discrepancies among social organizations make it necessary that the above-mentioned basic principles will have different realizations in the actual designing. College is but only an instance of such organizations.UIS-University Identity System theory has much reference to CIS theory. As such there exist great similarities and differences between the two. In fact, UIS theory can be regarded as an extended version of CIS theory. However, one has to fell apart the nature of colleges from business organizations.Following the principles of CIS design, the paper suggests the basic patterns for reference in contemporary college image design that involves such projects as UIS projects, school image design and UIS standard management for reference.
